• Connect with Purpose Church

Glenn K. Gunderson Jr. is a lead pastor at Purpose Church in Pomona, California. Purpose Church has experienced remarkable growth under his leadership and is home to 7,000 members and attenders across all generations and ethnic backgrounds. It now has four locations in three states, in four languages-including an online campus.

Glenn grew up in Prince George, Virginia and graduated from Wheaton College in Chicago. He received a Master of Divinity from Gordon-Conwell Seminary in Boston. Prior to coming to California, he spent 12 years serving as lead pastor of Grace Christian Fellowship in Homer, New York.

Glenn has written a book entitled “Biblical Antidotes to Life’s Toxins” and his new book, “Fourth Quarter Fumbles…Keys to Finishing Well” just came out this year (2017).

Kimberly Gunderson is a dynamic Bible teacher and speaker. She was born and raised in upstate New York and graduated with a history degree from Boston University and received a Master’s degree in Cross-Cultural Studies with Children-at-Risk from Fuller Theological Seminary. Five years ago, Kimberly launched the New Community Academy in Pomona. She is currently the Executive Director of the school. Both Glenn and Kimberly have received honorary doctorates from Azusa Pacific University. They live in Pomona and have six adult children (four of whom are adopted) and six grandchildren.

Matthew 6:33 is a powerful scripture in Pastor Glenn’s life. He says “When I trust God enough to pursue His agenda for my life first, it’s amazing how everything else falls into place!”

In his “off time” Glenn enjoys reading, running/walking, weight lifting (don’t laugh!), and family time with his wife and children.
