WHY IS IT IMPORTANT TO TALK ABOUT RACE, ETHNICITY, AND UNITY FROM A BIBLICAL PERSPECTIVE?

Purpose Church is a multiethnic, multicultural, multilingual, and multigenerational church with an unwavering commitment to the gospel and God’s Word! Conversations around race and ethnicity can become divisive, but they don’t have to be! The diversity God designed within humanity reflects His goodness and creativity but that has been distorted in our broken world and generated hate, prejudice, racism, and pain! But there’s good news–the gospel of Jesus made it possible for people groups thousands of years ago, with hundreds of years of hatred between them, to become unified in Christ–and that is still possible today! God has brought together His Church to bring the message of reconciliation to a desperate world! To this end, we invite you to join Gospel and Race Learning Groups, which is a 7-week experience where safe, challenging, and inspiring conversations around racial reconciliation and ethnic unity take place. The curriculum guiding our time together will be The Third Option by Miles McPherson, a mixed-race evangelical pastor and leader in racial reconciliation and church unity spaces.
