FOLLOW JESUS

Jesus called everyone to follow Him…

…and taught that loving Him means keeping His commands (John 14:15). A relationship with Jesus starts with confessing that your sin is a problem you can’t fix and that you recognize your need for His forgiveness which is made available to us through His death and resurrection. The Bible promises us that when we confess our sins, Jesus is faithful, meaning He will never abandon us; He forgives, meaning He doesn’t hold grudges but shows grace; He justifies, meaning His perfect sacrifice dealt with sin once and for all; and He will transform us, meaning He is committed to making us more like Him for life (1 John 1:9). A relationship with Jesus begins with that first confession of sins and repenting (turning away from our sin), but it doesn’t end there.

Following Jesus is a life-long journey of choosing Jesus, trusting Him with every part of your life, and living for His purpose!

For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.

John 3:16

That if you confess with your mouth, ‘Jesus is Lord,’ and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.

Romans 10:9

For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.

Ephesians 2:10

Here’s a simple prayer for beginning a relationship with Jesus:

Jesus, I CONFESS that my sin is a problem I can’t fix.
I BELIEVE that you died on the cross to forgive me.
I TRUST that you rose from the dead proving you are God.
I RECEIVE you as my Lord and Savior.
Today and every day, I CHOOSE to follow you!
