This week, wildfires tore across the greater L.A. area burning through homes, churches, businesses, and schools. Without warning, in the course of hours, individuals, families and entire communities have been left without homes, water, power, food, clothing and all of their earthly possessions. Many of us know someone who has been affected by this devastating disaster.
The need is great. Our God is greater. How can you help?
GIVE
We are partnering with churches and organizations to make sure that every dollar donated is able to provide direct help to those in need.

Expressions Church in Pasadena burned to the ground in the Eaton Fire. They lost everything, including Laptops, Printers, AVL, Instruments, Office Supplies, Signs, Banners, Canopies, Furniture, Toys, Ministry Materials, Kids Supplies and more.
Let’s help them rebuild one item at a time. Check out this Amazon Wish List to purchase needed items. Once purchased, they will automatically ship to Purpose Church where we will sort, organize and store the items until they are able to find a building to meet again.
SERVE
Our local missions, men’s, women’s and family ministries are all coordinating opportunities to serve in the coming weeks and months. Serve opportunities will include clothing ministry sorting and distributing, help with removing rubble and rebuilding, as well as serving with organizations that are distributing aid.

CLOTHING DONATIONS
WE ARE NO LONGER ACCEPTING DONATIONS AT PURPOSE.
Because of your generosity, we were able to donate clothes (and more) to the Pomona Fairplex where they are housing 10+ displaced families. We have also been able to provide victims with clothing vouchers to shop at Acts Thrift Store. Thank you, church!
Any additional donations can be dropped off at Acts Thrift Store in Pomona. Please record your donations under “Purpose Church” and they will be credited to our church account which is used for thrift store vouchers for those in need. Donations are accepted at ACTS Monday through Saturday from 9AM to 3PM (subject to change).
HOUSING ASSISTANCE
Purpose Church is partnering with Purpose Life Homes in the following area:
Housing Assistance: Do you have a room for rent, a rental property available, or any space you’re willing to offer? Purpose Life Homes will connect those in need with these opportunities.

FOUR WAYS TO PRAY
Gracious and loving God,
We lift up in prayer all those affected by the fires in Los Angeles. Surround the victims with Your comfort and strength as they face loss and uncertainty. For those who have lost homes, livelihoods, or loved ones, we ask for Your healing presence to bring peace to their hearts. Bless the first responders and all who risk their lives to save others. Grant them protection, wisdom, and courage as they serve. May communities come together in compassion and unity, offering support and resources to those in need. And may Your light guide them through the darkness, reminding them they are never alone.
In Your holy name, we pray. Amen.

Due to overwhelming response, we will not be able to support every submission, but know that we are prayerfully discerning the right organizations/churches/people to help during this time.
We also encourage you to be the hands and feet of Jesus as needs arise! This is a time for the church to rise and shine for those who need it most. Church is not a building, rather it is YOU – the people. Let’s be the church and love one another as Christ has loved us.
